Abstract

This piece of work deals with the study and development of a model of structural optimization with an explicit objective function. Optimized structures belong to the group of skeleton structures (articulated, flat or spacial). The model can be used equally for statically determinate structures as for those which present interior and/or exterior hyperstaticity. As objective functions the cost and price of the structures can be selected; the model allows the inclusion of functions of restriction, as well as the selection of variables of design referring as much to the dimensions of sections as to the proper topological and geometrical definition of the structure. The criteria of dimensioning of sections are those of the NBE/MV 103, with the possibility of the combination of actions of a different nature, formulation of the most favorable hypothesis/hypotheses, and use of discreet series of profiles contained in the NBE/MV-102 and NBE/MV-108
