This cover, capable of protecting from the rain 400,000 t of lignite, extends over a surface of 96,000 m2, with a storey of 160 m wide by 592 m long. It is formed by polygonal arches of circular section, pretensed, and with a weight of 240 t, from which the cover is suspended. The closure is carried out at two levels, permitting its correct execution. These arches were assembled with the support of metalic towers and with the aid of powerful mobile cranes and were raised by means of particos equipped with an oil-hydraulic system.
