The tower of the Convent de la Asuncion of Calatrava, through a series of different causes, was in an advanced state of ruin, probably initiated by the earthquake of Lisbon. For its restoration the tower was corseted by means of hoops, its walls were injected and fixed to an independent structure built inside.
