On the application of stability criteria to mechanical systems obtained through a variational method

Studied here is the stability state of several specific mechanical systems, both rigid and elastic, for exponential type solution against time. Considered are the self-value problems of such solutions, obtaining stability criteria by means of a variational method. These criteria either agree with other already known results, or bring out new ones.
