Abstract

The building has been designed for a treble purpose: holiday use, permanent residence and even as an occasional work place. The plot is a large one, nearly flat and landscaped with simplicity and taste in keeping with the adjoining golf course. The house fans out facing South for optimum exposure to sunshine, while affording the best possible views with the swimming pool placed in the most convenient location, i.e., opposite the bedrooms, living room and play area. The day and nighttime accesses are also clearly differentiated, as are the service entrance and garden. The decorative treatment and material used are in keeping with local style, the floor plan and elevations have been very carefully designed so as to achieve a flowing and changing effect, while the interiors have been rather nobily finished and ornamented to fulfill the requirements of the owners.
