Abstract

It comprises 3 basements and 35 upper storeys, of which 17 are designed for the hotel and a further 15 for apartments, both functions being separated by a technical floor. In the top two levels, a restaurant has been set up, from where a splendid panoramic view of the AIps is given. Prefabrication predominates in the construction, and only the central nucleus of vertical Communications and perimetral supports were made with concrete mixed on site. Thanks to this system, this 118 m high building was completed in only nine months. The execution of the prefabricated components, such as the parts making up the pugging and the semicircular cantilevers of the terraces, took place in a provisional factory set up ¡n the work area, and which was equipped with a steam plant to achieve the quick setting of the precast parts. On the outside, the new hotel offers the town a lively touch, due in part to the original arrangement of the terraces which jut out like a honeycomb, from the circular block of the building.
