The Billingehus was designed with the idea of bringing the people of the town into contact with cultural and sporting activities developed in natural surroundings. With this aim, a very wooded area enclosed by mountains was chosen, which also had a small lake nearby which would make fishing possible. In this place was built a complex, which houses in its central nucleus a series of cafes, restaurants, halls for social functions, a small hotel, and even a private church, with several swimming-pools, multi-purpose sports fields and car-park in the immediate vicinity. Advantage was taken of the nearby mountains to build ski-runs, which are equipped with ski-lifts.
