Abstract

This article describes the study, design and building of wide span concrete halls which, at present, are greatly influenced by the advances made in pre-stressed concrete, préfabrication and the development of modern building methods, as well as the new techniques in building with light concrete. The influence which gave origin to these halls is also described. Chosen as an example is the hall, with a span of 150 metres and a maximum hight of 27.30 metres, for the Munich goods station, showing the importance of this type of construction.
