This coliseum has a ground area of 22,760 m2, of which 8,268 m2 is devoted to the arena, and the rest to the accommodation of spectators and other purposes. The spectator area is currently 7,240 m2, but can be extended to 11,000 m2, by adding provisional seats. The most important aspect of this sports facility is the suspended roof, and its original structure, including the 48 prefabricated architectural elements supporting the roof; which also remind of marine themes, in accord with the seagoing habits of the local population.
