This paper aims to bring up-to-date a matter the author has already dealt with (with others) in 1960 and which is a topic of great interest for architects, urban planners, sociologists, specialized municipal personnel and, in general, the public interested in this matter: namely, the availability of large supplies of pure water wherever needed. A review is made of the latest advances in desalinization techniques and cost and consumption data is included along with a detailed table which can serve as a directory for specialists dealing with problems of this type.
