The new centre comprises: — two buildings that are residences for the students, and can house 160 individuals; — a single storey block for the dining hall of students and teaching staff, as well as the cafeteria, boiler room and other services; — two buildings with four lecture halls; — three blocks with the laboratories and research facilities, and — a fourth block with the design and draughting halls. The site is near Fulmer's Farm, which is a building from the beginning of the century, of Jacobean style, surrounded by gardens sited in exceptionally fine landscape, including very tall trees. Hence it has not been necessary to add any new landscaping to achieve a highly pleasant environment.
