This stadium has been built at Hanovre, USA, for Dartmouth University. It is covered by an ondulated shell, 110 m long and 69.80 m span, and a maximum free height of 18.30 m. This roof rests on reinforced concrete supports, spaced every 5.70 ms. Each support is formed by three members, in the shape of a rectangular triangle: the hypotenuse transmits the thrust to the abutments, the vertical member supports the springers, and the horizontal one stabilises the structure. The roof structure consists of triangular, prefabricated, units, attached by intersecting stiffeners, which are made on the site. These stiffeners are embedded, at their extremities, in two continuous beams. Construction has been done in successive 8.50 m long stages.
