The lot on which this Museum has been built greatly influenced the project design, both due to its location on one of the main and historic streets of the city, with very defined architectonic characteristics, as well as its enveloping shape with regard to the building on the corner, which offered a possibility of double access to the Museum and a double facade. Using this as a basis and with the idea of creating a live and dynamic museum, the total buildable volume was divided into two large spaces; one destined to the Museum as such, and the other dedicated to containing the technical-administrative services, both connected on each level, in a common nucleus of vertical Communications. The Museum was designed as a sole plurifunctional space and very flexible which would permit, nevertheless, creation of microspaces in order to allow for celebration of individual and group meetings. Concrete has been chosen as the basic material, mainly for its formal, durable and resistance characteristics.
