Reinforcement corrosion is one of the main causes of the early deterioration of reinforced concrete structures. This Doctoral Thesis deals with the consequences of corrosion on two basic aspects of the performance of structures: the mechanical properties of steel and steel-to-concrete bond. For this matter, an experimental program and a theoretical model are developed taking into account the main parameters which influence the studied themes.
