Abstract

The rather lost values such as closeness, the sense of correctness and the pride as well as the knowledge of the building systems of the area, the capacity to understand the craftsmen or achieve their comprehension, often provide more sensitive, intelligent, sensible and cheaper solutions than those methods with which the Administrations generally tries to solve the conservation of our Heritage. To recover the profession of the architect means also to recover the architect, involving him in a work beyond that defined in a project, and in a work direction that often takes him far from his usual environment. The patient and thorough learning of an object with which the architect can have a special, almost loving bond is but continuous and privileged observation that allows him to establish a dialogue with the building. This learning largely substitutes for other deficiencies.
