Reinforced masonry desing

The inclusion of steel reinforcement in the masonry used to built walls, columns and other structural elements in the buildings are generalized in all the world, by the technical advantages which presents. In Spain his use is beginning nowadays, and there are not even specific standards for the calcul and dimensioning of this elements of reinforced masonry. In this work are first analyzed the mechanical proprieties of the materials which compose the masonries, and after that the proprieties of the masonries with they constructed, as preparation of the calcul and dimensioning of the reinforced masonry elements. And third this calcul are developed based on the Eurocode (EC6), in phase of elaboration, and the Spanish norms of actions, masonry and reinforced concrete connected with the reinforced masonry. Several tables to simplify the calcul of different elements of reinforced masonry are presented.
