Abstract

Quality Assurance (Q.A.) in construction is already being applied in our country, in the design, construction and use of Nuclear Power Plants. Its application to more conventional and less important works is beginning or being considered to be implemented. This tendency creates the need of a deeper study in order to establish the elements of Q.A. This paper is intended to be a guide to most relevant publications in Q.A. Paramount concepts are outlined in a brief and schematic way, giving a systematic and intuitive view of the matter. The main concern of the paper are Q.A. Elements which are defined in a general form and separately analyzed. Among them the most important one is the human factor which is beginning to be accounted for in productive processes, since various and continuous studies show that most construction failures are due to more or less rough human mistakes.
