This work studies de resisting capacity of the non reinforced masonry works to normal requirements from the knowledge of the nominal value to compressive resistance of its elements, or from the results from compression tests carried out on masses or on masonry samples. The obtained expressions for homogeneous sections are also valid for sections that, because of their cavities, they can be considered heterogeneous, allowing a determination of its resistant behaviour by means of the introduction of the conceipt of resistant homogeneous equivalent section. Finaly it includes a study on deforming and buckling of the masonry works to which diverse expressions gathered already in the Model Code CEB-FIP and in the Instruction in force EH'82 for Concrete Works are applied.
