Abstract

This work within the research project "Material, Technologies and Low Cost Housing Prototypes" has the purpose lo obtain a building material based on cement and treated rice husk, for its use as thermal insulator. The performance of different dosages was analyzed and according to the results two dosages were choosen to make standard panels of 60 X 90 X 6cm which were tested for bending, and the thermal conductivity values were determined, value of λ which fluctuate between 0.105 and 0.123. It also deals with a whole of partial results, of diverse applications, which are to be resolved within the frame-work of poor concretes study, pointing mainly for its elaboration in developing countries.
