This is probably the largest land reclaim project ever attempted to enlarge an airport facility. The owner is the Honolulu International Airport, Hawaii, where a 3600 m long landing strip was built on a coral reef. This project, difficult and unique, opens new ways for airports to solve their capacity and environment problems through reclaiming land from the ocean.
