Abstract

This bridge is a part of Motorway A614 constituting the beit road around the city of Nottingham and is located at the west of the city centre. The project includes the bridge on the river Trent and link roads at both river banks. These structures together with phase I of the Clifton bridge, completed in 1958, provide 3 lanes of traffic in each direction, permitting an easy crossing of the river and connecting the city center, the industrial section in the North bank and the residential sections in the South bank, at the same time as linking the system with the M-1 Motorway. The design is by R. Travers Morgan & Partners and w/as built by Peter Lind & Co Ltd for the Secretary of State.
