Two projects stands out among the brisk development experienced by Lake St. Louis: the Wharf Shopping Centre and the Bent Oak apartment community. 1) The shopping center built on and around a wharf opposite the lakefront drive, creates a link between the lake and the local landscape and is decorated with a shipping theme. 2) Likewise, the Bent Oak apartments, built in a charming location, are an attempt to integration in the surrounding environment, and have been therefore designed making extensive use of timber, both for facing the buildings and for the lampost and bridges over streams.
