This exhibition pavilion, joined to the BMW administrative building, is remarkable both in view of its structural shape as because of the planning of its different spaces. The structure consists of a prestressed sheet of lightweight concrete in the shape of a shell, that by means of an annular beam, leans on six big cylindric supports. Each one of these supports sustains a circular platform of various sizes over which the exhibition areas extend. The platforms that are situated at different levels are joined together by means of a self supporting ramp. Below the entrance level, premises have been provided for the conservation and maintenance of the exhibition objects. The area surrounding the pavilion consists of gardens and open spaces which can be used as additional exhibition grounds.
