The main characteristic of this Institute is its configuration, with one body of flat construction; designed for lecture halls and workshops, combined with a 17-storeyed tower which holds the rooms of the residents. The low body consists two storeyed of blocks that are constructed in relation to each other so that the roof of the ground floor becomes the terrace of the second block. Characteristic of the construction is, apart from being entirely of unfaced concrete that is uses large beams which hold up to 17.5 m long splays without supports. The building for the residents has been subdivided into boarding units, each one of which consists of three mezzanine floors. In the middle one are the bedrooms, in the shape of small cubicles, whereas in the other ones are situated the living rooms that complete each unit. The capacity of the Institute is 1,600 people for whom 150 parking places have been provided.
