Bridge over the Danube river. Linz - Austria

This bridge that stretches across the Danube is 35 m wide and 407 m long. It has been subdivided into 4 spans: two of 60 m, one of 72 and another one of 215 m. It is formed by a 65 high central pier, a deck and three cable groupings which divide the pier in question and sustain the deck. The deck consists of: four main longitudinal beams, a series of transversal beams, and a rolling surface, treated as an orthotropic plate and formed by a sheet of reinforced steel with ribs. The bridge that has been constructed entirely of steel has been built according to the system of successive arches.
