This work insists on the concept of «limit for intensive cracking» of concrete and in the non-destructive criteria for determining it. On the other hand a brief revision is made of the theories that refer to the macrostructure of the pastes and its influence on the failure mechanism, according to the most commonly accepted hypothesis.
