The Alnö Bridge - Sweden

This bridge that joins the island of Alnô with the peninsula near the port of Sundsvall In the north of Sweden is one of the many of prestressed concrete that have been constructed lately all over the world with the system of successive corbels. Until recently it was the longest bridge in the country and distinguishes itself by the elegance and slenderness of its longer arches and by the deep foundation system used to construct the four central bridge piers. It has been planned and constructed by Skanska Cementgjuteriet, a firm that is specializing in this type of structure.
