Abstract

The present article describes the construction of the stretch Puzol-Castellón of the Mediterranean Highway in which for the second time the Californian techniques of rigid pavements have been used in a Spanish highway: bases of gravel-cement and slabs of mass concrete, with oblique, sawn, unsealed joints. This system is especially appropriate for the use of sliding shutterings which means greater savings and faster execution of the roadbed.
