A two-storey house for a couple with three young children was built on a site of more than 2.000 m2. The ground floor comprises the entrance, drawing room, study, dining room, playroom and kitchen with eating space. The first floor, connected by a circular staircase, houses six bedrooms and four bathrooms. A precast concrete frame was chosen and double beams were employed to provide natural ducts in which to distribute the warmed air heating system. The fibre glass cladding was also chosen for its selfcleaning and maintenance quality. Wood boarding ceilings and moquette floorings. Bronze tinted heat absorbing glass for the windows was adopted to help reduce the effect of the sun and also to give privacy from surrounding properties. Lighting generally is concealed, and at first floor level considerable use is made of ceiling lights down the central corridor and in bathrooms.
