New Road Network at Aviemore Great Britain

The increase in traffic during the holiday months round Aviemore, in the Cairngorm distric of Scotland, has required the urgent modernisation of its local roads. This work has included the construction of a new bridge over the river Spey, a railway bridge over the river Perth; also an underground car pass and the rebuilding of the Coylum bridge, over the river Druie. The article describes briefly all these works. The reconstruction of Coylum bridge has been done without hardly altering its earlier aspect, although it has been widened and strengthened. The first three projects were designed by Babtie, Shaw & Morton, of Glasgow, whilst the Coylum project was prepared by the Inverness County Council.
