Abstract

It is situated on the most prominent part of the site and is easily accessible from any of the housing blocks that form the first phase of this urban subcentre under development. Consequently it enjoys an ample view on three of its four sides, which contributes to an atmosphere of calm as well as to a good natural illumination. It consists of two floors with independent access to both where the following facilities are available: first aid, dentistry, clinic, oftalmology, infant care, toilets and waiting rooms, rooms for the personnel, etc. Different entrances for the various service departments have been planned some of which can be used as emergency exits or fire exits. The supports —four pairs of V-pillars that support themselves on a pile foundation— carry a lightened structure of steel and floors of reinforced concrete: the spandrels are prefabricated, of unfaced concrete with aggregates of Norwegian quartz, non-heatconducting glass, on profiles of anodized aluminium, comfortable interior treatment and installations with the latest technological inventions.
