The present bridge, substituting the one destroyed by a catastrophic inundation, has to canalize a continuously growing traffic, due to the characteristics and the demography of the affected zone. It consists of two side spans of 62,50 m and one central span of 125 m, which is presently the maximum span in Spain for bridges built in prestressed concrete. The traffic facility consists of twin-decks, separated by 1 m, built with the cantilever method. All its parts, including the accesses, have been finished within eight months, which is an absolute record for this type of bridges.
