Abstract


This building is the first of five which make up the new Administrative Department of Val de Marne, and comprises: — A main building with seven storeys and basement. The following are in the first floors: reception for the public, Board of Directors, with assembly rooms, hall, intended for different uses, the technical and file floor, the Prefect's Office, different offices, department heads offices, cloakrooms, sanitary facilities, restaurant catering for 1,200 meals, and temporary apartments for executive posts. The roof is in stainless steel. All the service installations have been placed in the basement. It has three stairs and four lift units. — One three-storey building, two designed as a car park, and the third for postal, typing, telephone and electronic computer services. — One two-storey building intended for the Prefect's dwelling. The whole group of building are near a lake, which has affected its construction, layout and composition, to take maximum advantage of this circumstance. It is made of reinforced concrete and precast concrete.
