Abstract

A new and extremely efficient incinerating plant has become necessary, to complement the older one, to cater for the rapidly increasing size of Basle, and deal with the large amounts of waste materials, many of them resulting from modern packing systems and heating installations. Recently the first stage in the construction of the new plant has been completed, and the second stage will be finished in 1980. Beyond that date the old plant will be demolished and a final stage will be ready for use in 1985. When completed, the plant will burn about 200,000 tons of waste materials per year.
