This building was completed when the Municipal Hospital of Mannheim was enlarged and became a Faculty of Medicine. It serves equally well for catholic and protestant religious services. The visitor reaches the church after traversing a gently inclined path: the main feature that holds his attention on entering is the altar and sacristy zone. Advancing up a ramp a gallery is reached, which enables sick people on wheelchairs, or in beds, to participate in the liturgical acts. The main materials utilised have been untreated brick and concrete.
