Abstract

This school was built on a site within the grounds of the Gaisenberg fortress. It is so organised that theoretical training is given in the multistorey blocks, and the practical and experimental work in done in low height buildings. The structure of this set of blocks is noteworthy, and consists of reinforced concrete precast units, including columns, beams and panels for external and internal walls. These were made at the workshop and taken to the site for final assembly. The high quality of the fabrication, including the accurate measurements and finish and the exhaustive assembly tests carried out previously at the workshops greatly simplified the final construction, and contributed to a highly accurate adjustment and jointing of the units at the various knots.
