Trieste terminal of the transalpine oleoduc

In this article emphasis is placed on the successful use of steel and of prefabricated structural parts, although the project is situated within a hostile environment for such materials, namely, the sea. The article also indicates the interesting varieties of welding that have been utilised in the fabrication of the tubular parts, and also the types of protection adopted for the structure, to defend it from the highly aggressive medium.
