Evangelical church at Dachau, Germany

The architect has been successful in providing, at this church, a suitable environment of human warmth, and inside the building one feels the truth of the thought that «the difference of creed is no impediment, but those who truly love Christ become one, without being united». There are two main spaces, the community hall and the church. These are independent, and the church is subdivided into a zone for the visitors, and another, which is more quiet, for prayer. The entrance to the church is strongly in contrast with the pathetic flatness of the countryside, and the church planform is such that it is possible to adapt its capacity to the number of the congregated faithful. There are a number of plastic works of art which add to the interest of the design and inform the visitor on the terrible events which took place at this site, and of the attitude of the evangelical church on these matters, at the present time.
