Abstract

Epoxi resins are being increasingly applied in construction in recent years. This is due to their excellent properties and an improving technology, which enables these resins to be applied to more delicate and difficult uses. This article describes the work done by the author as part of an extensive program of experimental work at the Instituto Eduardo Torroja laboratory. This program of work refers particularly to mortars with a low content of epoxi resins. By this is meant a mixture of none fine aggregate with the least quantity of resin necessary to obtain a suitable bond. The investigation involved a study of the proportioning of sand and resin, the relation between proportioning, the age and the mechanical strength and also the physical properties of the resulting mortars.
