The «Painted Desert & Petrified Forest» built by the National Park Service has a main centre for visitors, a motel, a communitary social centre, houses for the staff, and a small model of a rural school for the children of the families living at the site. This «Desert & Forest» is a national monument and constitutes a beautiful source of interest to visitors, who will find much to learn in admiring the expressive remants of the past. This creation by Neutra is clearly indicative of the author's personal style, and it emphasizes the horizontal outlines, in order to better blend with the landscape.
