Art Museum in Vienna

This museum is meant to house XXth century art exhibits. There is one building, with two floor levels, where the exhibitions are held. A furtherbuilding, running at right angles to the first one, contains the offices, a lecture hall with seating accommodation for 116 people, a reading room, vestibule and cloakroom. There are three patios, surrounding the museum. These serve to show to the public various sculptures, and the general arrangement of these outdoor spaces is carefully planned to show the exhibits to the best possible advantage. The metallic structure is painted red, and is in strong contrast with the greenness of the surrounding vegetation. In this case, the resulting colour balance has proved most successful.
