This paper summarizes the views and basic information obtained by the author during his visit to Poland, in November 1964. Through the cooperation of professor B. Lewicki, well known specialist in the mass production and prefabrication of heavy building units, visits were made to several factories making large building units. Important technical centres, such as the Housing Institute, the Technical Building Institute, the Organization and Mechanization Institute, the Polish Standardization Committee, in Warsaw, and numerous buildings in Cracow were also viewed. The primary purpose of the journey was the adaptation of the new mass production techniques to the circumstances of our country.
