Abstract

When an item of machinery is bought, it is essential that as soon as it is received it should be closely inspected, especially when it is a new model, or when the purchase is affected under special contract requirements. The checking of the machinery should correspond exactly with the specifications, and will normally require a number of trials to be undertaken. The items mentioned in the catalogue should be inspected and checked off, and the general performance should be measured. All these steps should be taken before the equipment is finally accepted.
