This paper considers the case of a simply supported cable, acting under its own weight and a number equidistant, equal loads. In the most general case the relation between the distribution of the loads and the resultant outline of the cable can be obtained from a set of parameters. The practical application of the formula is simplified by the use of suitable charts.
