La apariencia y la forma del teatro, como un edificio modelo, ha intrigado durante siglos a los arquitectos y se han desarrollado grandes esfuerzos en los diversos proyectos con el fin de conseguir estructuras para teatros de carácter adecuado. Las partes destinadas al auditorio y al escenario han presentado siempre dificultades para proyectar esfuerzos destinados a la consecución de una forma sencilla.
