Abstract


This article attempts to present a personal reflection on the role of modern building legislation, analyzing its objectives, approach to structure and requirements in connection with the increasingly necessary opening to global markets. In Spain, the recent experience in the preparation of the new Technical Building Code has served to establish a new facilitiesoriented focus that has been applied in the most advanced countries where such reforms are underway.
