Túnel para variante de ferrocarril

Por hacerse imprescindible modificar el trazado de la línea férrea de Londres a Edimburgo (Inglaterra) se ha perforado un túnel a través de un terreno arcilloso, cuya excavación y revestimiento son de interés. Esto sucedió al norte de Londres, en el distrito de Potters Bar y Hadley Woods, donde la línea de ferrocarril da paso diario a 350 trenes. Con objeto de evitar los embotellamientos se construyeron tres túneles de doble vía, paralelos al que originalmente existía.
