La estructura que cubre el Salón del automóvil en Turín (Italia), está constituida por una malla romboidal múltiple, de hormigón pretensado que se apoya sobre soportes oblicuos dispuestos en forma de biela y de equilibrio hiperestático debido a la introducción de dos tirantes en las extremidades de la ménsula que vuela. Estos tirantes o bielas pequeñas se han dispuesto para comportarse, en todo momento, como un tirante de hormigón que, aunque de acero, se logra este efecto debido a una precompresión particular introducida según un trazado en S en el pretensado.
