El estrecho valle donde el conquistador Diego de Losada fundó a Caracas, contenía hasta hace poco una población de 150.000 habitantes. Ni las distancias ni el tiempo preocupaban a los moradores. El peatón era todavía el dueño de la ciudad. Vivía cerca de su trabajo. Su traslado no se transformaba, como hoy, en pérdida de tiempo y gastos de energías.
