La ciudad de Mari se haya enclavada en uno de los más recientes centros industriales de Westfalia. Su crecimiento ha sido rapidísimo; en la actualidad, cuenta con ochenta mil habitantes y en mapas de mediana antigüedad no aparece ni indicada. Pese a su actual importancia, todavía no dispone de ferrocarril, y su crecimiento, hasta hoy desordenado, será regulado por los planes urbanísticos desarrollados por el Dr. Günther Marschall. En ellos, se indicó como necesaria la construcción de un hospital de cuatrocientas cincuenta camas.
